Breaking Symmetry

These photographs explore how recognizable patterns suggest symmetry without fully achieving it. Repeated forms, shared directions, and geometric arrangements invite the eye to see a coherent whole, while uneven spacing, individual gestures, organic growth, and distorted reflections complicate that impression. In both natural and constructed settings, symmetry often remains a possibility rather than a settled condition.
